Dear friends, greetings, fellow bloggers!

Heartfelt wishes to you all — your family, relatives, neighbours, and every friend (and rival!) — for a joyous Lohri and the Makar Sankranti to follow.

Friends, do you know when the Municipal Corporation of Delhi came into being? Don't know? Let us tell you why we're here today. Under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, the Corporation came into existence on 7 April 1958. Aruna Asaf Ali was Delhi's first elected mayor, and Lala Hansraj Gupta also served the city in that role in its earliest years.

Today we'd like to introduce you to Suresh Yadav ji, who currently serves as Additional Deputy Commissioner at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi — and who, alongside his municipal duties, is also diligently devoted to the service of Hindi literature.
